CN Tower

In case you don’t know, CN tower is the landmark of Toronto. “CN” refers to Canadian National, the railway company that built the tower. CN Tower is a 553.3m tall communications and observation tower, completed in 1976.

Apart from taking pictures of CN Tower from afar, you can consider purchasing tickets to the observation deck, book the EdgeWalk, the highest full circle hands-free walk on the ledge circling the top of the Tower’s main pod, or enjoy a nice meal at the 360 Restaurants featuring different cuisines.

If you want to shop for something, it is recommended to wait for Black Friday Sales (usually a week before November 24, which is the Thanksgiving Day in United States), or Christmas Sales (a week prior to December 25th, and may have exceptional deals on Boxing Day, December 26th), or just the end of season for clothes.

Toronto Island Park

Toronto Islands are right off the coast of downtown Toronto, which can be accessed by ferry throughout the day. They have a small scale amusement park on Centre Island, while you also have the options to walk around the nature trails and rent a bike as you explore the island.

If you are someone that is seeking nature within the big city, High Park will be your first choice. Over 30% of High Park remains in a natural state, with good preservation regarding its landscape and biodiversity. At High Park, you can enjoy its many wildlife, playground, food and picnic areas, and also the natural trails. During spring, you may even have the chance to see cherry blossoms in High Park!

Beaches

Craving for sunshine and the ocean? Checkout the 11 beaches you can access in Toronto. Please note that most of the beaches only have lifeguards during summer swimming season, thus it is not recommended to swim until then. Also, these beaches are linked to Lake Ontario, thus it is fresh water instead of seawater.
