Transportation Network

Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is the most efficient method to move around the city. The TTC is responsible for the management of three different modes of public transportation: subway, streetcar, and bus. The TTC provides public transportation services to commuters each day in Toronto and in the regions that are located around it. To use the TTC, you will need a Presto Card, pass (one-ride, two-ride, day pass), or a TTC ticket token to access all three types of public transportation.

Single trips on all TTC transportation cost about CA$3.25, however, it is a smart option to acquire a day (CA$13.50) or monthly (CA$128.15 for post-secondary monthly pass, CA$156 for monthly pass and CA$143 for 12-month pass) pass if you expect to regularly use TTC public transportation for your journey. Read more regarding fares and passes on https://www.ttc.ca/Fares-and-passes

Additionally, the TTC gives you a two-hour free transfer on all their public transportation, this includes subway, streetcars and buses. Within this duration of two hours, you will be able to use the transfer to enter and depart the TTC as many times as you would like. Hence, no additional fee will be deducted from your TTC pass as long as it has been less than two hours after your initial tap.

You can buy a TTC card at the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart, in all TTC subway station fare vending machines, in GO and UP Express stations ticket vending machines, and customer service outlets. You’ll be able to choose the fare type (adults, youths, senior) when you purchase your card from Shoppers Drug Mart or a customer service outlet. Subway

Taking the TTC bus is a cost-effective way for you to go all around Toronto and explore the city. If you are not in a hurry, taking the bus will offer you a journey that is both pleasant and affordable. Taking the bus rather than the subway is also often a better opinion in terms of cleanliness. Even though the subway is less likely to be delayed than a bus, traffic has the benefit of being easier to anticipate than subway disruptions.

Streetcar

The above-ground trains with Toronto's signature red and white color are an iconic symbol of the city and an essential component of the transit system. Streetcars travel in the exact way as the flow of traffic. Similar to buses, there are usually indicators that indicate where the streetcar will stop and stop shelters from helping make your journey more pleasant.
